Florence C. Macauley, MBA, CAPS, ECHM, CDP, PTA, CEAS

Florence C. Macauley is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, influencer, and the founder and owner of AgeWise Home, a consulting firm dedicated to improving accessibility, safety, and quality of life for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and Veterans. She currently serves as the Executive Director of an assisted living community in Washington, DC, where she leads daily operations, regulatory compliance, and resident-centered care.

With over two decades of experience in geriatric physical therapy and a background that spans hospitals, nursing homes, residential assisted living facilities, and long-term care settings, Florence brings a uniquely informed perspective to aging-in-place solutions. She has consulted on the development and testing of aging-in-place products and accessibility technologies, providing practical insight drawn from her clinical and leadership experience. As a growing influencer in the aging and wellness space, Florence uses her platform to educate and empower families, caregivers, and professionals.

She holds an MBA in Healthcare Administration, an Executive Certificate in Home Modification from the University of Southern California, and an AAS in Physical Therapy. Florence is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS), and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS).

Driven by her passion for design, construction, and remodeling, Florence is committed to combating premature institutionalization by helping families create functional, beautiful, and safe environments. She also has a strong interest in streamlining operations and improving efficiency, applying her expertise to help care teams and organizations implement sustainable systems that support both staff and residents. A wife and mother to a young son, Florence understands the emotional and logistical challenges caregivers face and is dedicated to helping others plan proactively and age with dignity—at home and in the community.
